The calm….I’ll take it!!!

FINALLY things are calm in my crazy world.  Whew….a breather.  What a BLESSING!  My daughter is off drugs….hopefully for good.  She is taking Suboxone right now….and it is working very well.  She still doesn’t have her children….but they are fine where they are.

The last time I wrote anything…it was almost time for the court date to determine what would happen to her kids.  Her daughter is still with the family that has had her for almost a year.  She is just blossoming…..very smart little girl.  Doing and saying something different every day!

Her son is with his father and doing very well too.   He just had a birthday on Sunday.  He was a year old….and just took his first steps last week.  He’s such a doll baby….a big CHUNK!!!  Last I heard he weighs 34 pounds…loves to eat….lolol.  That’s my BOY!!

I’m not sure how long this will last.  But in this family…I take every SECOND of piece and tranquility!!!  God knows I don’t get many….

Just wanted to touch base with all of you and let you know what was goin on in my life.

Thanks……and lots of hugs to you.

  1. Glad things are calm, that your daughter is doing well and that your grandbabies are growing and thriving. 🙂

  2. Hi. Sorry you are going through this. I have a daughter who just turned 29. She started on Oxy’s and went to heroin. I took her two daughters away from her and have custody of them. She is currently in methadone recovery, it is her ninth rehab. She has had another child, who just turned one. I am subscribed to your blog now.

I blog about being a custodial grandparent, but also about being the mom of a junkie. feel free to stop by, we all gotta stick together. Unfortunately, there are more of us every single day 😦

  3. I have used one of my blogs to start to chronicle my daughter’s addiction and the impact it has had on the family, as well as what I have learned through my journey. if you want to read it, it is at

  4. I started a new blog place. There are just too many of us out there now. I am hoping it will be a clearinghouse sort of spot, for information, links, etc., as well as the blogs. Perhaps we can all get together and post on it about our experiences, and help each other out.

[dham]. I’m very excited to hear that your daughter is on suboxone and doing well. It’s wonderful that your grandchildren are happy and safe too. If you’re daughter will take her suboxone everyday as prescribed she will make it through this but if she doesn’t take it because she thinks she doesn’t need it anymore …that’s when she’ll go right back to the pills. She has to take the medicine everyday! It’s very important…It tastes nasty and she’ll get to the point where she really doesn’t think she needs it anymore…Tell her not to fall into that trap…Take care.

  6. Glad to hear that you are having some calm time, you deserve it grandma. Also nice to know that your daughter and the grandbabies are doing fine. Hang in there lady, prayers and good wishes are still thought of for you. Have a nice weekend.

  7. Hang in there. I have 23 years clean from heroin and my life couldn’t be better. One thing that helped was that my parents, although at one point put me out of their life for self preservation, never gave up on me. I believe they prayed me into the rooms.
